Professor McArdle
Dear Sir
I have written to one
of our Harris Cos. Representatives in behalf of
San Jacinto battle picture[,] And as I have
great doubt whether it will do more
harm than good will inclose [sic] it to
you & ask you to make any chan-
ges you may deem proper or —
consign it to the waste basket, or
fire. I find that I am too nervous to
write, and beside[s] my eyes are not
strong enough to bear the glare of white
Paper — with best wishes for
success
I am truly your
friend
Mary Jones
Now I beg of you to do with my
letter just as you may think
proper and oblige me
