be all right, but in that particular

battle there is no doubt that the

dash and rapidity of attack[,]

never giving the Mexicans a chance

to rally, was what gained us such

a signal victory; the real

fighting lasted a very short time

for my husband said by the

time he got up with the foe

it was more a slaughter than

a fight. The Mexicans falling

on their knees crying "Me no

Alamo." Me no Goliad"

I am disappointed that you have changed

your subject. I would be glad to

see both scenes upon Canvas but think the

"Decralation [sic] of Independence" should be

done first. I am almost entirely

dependent upon my children so
