My daughter
Mrs. M. Looscan is visiting Austin
and will call upon you in hopes
of seeing your picture of the
"Battle of San Jacinto." I wrote to you
about two years ago that my husband
Andrew Briscoe commanded
Company A of the Regular Army.
I know that just after the capture
of the Mexican Artillery, Gen Sam Houston
rode up to him and said "Briscoe
for Gods sake halt your men.
Those volunteers may all be cut
to pieces and we must have troops
to fall back upon." The order
