ILL / Courier Services (TExpress) Program
The goal of theTexShare ILL / Courier (TExpress) program is to promote resource sharing, improve ILL services among member libraries, and to provide faster, more cost effective delivery of interlibrary loan materials in Texas. The program offers an ILL Protocol, a load leveling guide, and the TExpress service, which offers a five, three, or two day a week pickup and delivery service for participating libraries.
TexShare members who use OCLC for their interlibrary loan and who are members of the Texas Group may sign the ILL Protocol. The purpose of the agreement is to foster resource sharing in Texas and to help standardize policies and procedures. The agreement recommends, but does not require, practices such as not charging for ILL service, using Ariel equipment for document delivery, and subscribing to the TExpress courier service.
