To Gov R.B. Hubbard

Comdr in Chief

The sheriffs party who visited

Sandy Point this morning have returned

and bring advices corraborative of

letter Telegraphed you last night

but that the negroes had

dispersed as yet no arrests

have been made there. It

gives me pleasure to bring

to your notice the promptness

and coolness which marked the

conduct of the volunteer soldiers

last night Their action will

have a salutary effect
