E-Read Texas - Join
E-Read Texas brings electronic books and audiobooks to Texans served by small community libraries in all parts of the state. E-Read Texas provides over 20,000 downloadable e-books and audiobooks and a mobile e-reader application that make it possible for all Texans served by public libraries to access e-books.
The E-Read Texas collection primarily includes adult fiction and popular non-fiction and is most appropriate for an adult audience.

Are we eligible to join E-Read Texas?
Public libraries must meet the following criteria in order to join E-Read Texas:
- Submit the Public Libraries Annual Report to TSLAC each year
- Note that accreditation is NOT required, but you must submit the annual report each year to remain in the program.
AND
- Library serves a community of no more than 100,000 people
OR
- Electronic collection expenditure are less than $100,000 per year
How do libraries sign up?

There are two forms to complete. Please read the forms carefully!
1. Participation Agreement: outlines the terms and conditions for participation in the program, and should be completed by your library director.
- Option one: sign digitally with Adobe sign (only for LIBRARY DIRECTORS)
- Be sure to click on the link in the verification email to complete your signature.
- You will receive a copy and a copy will automatically be sent to TSLAC
- Option two: download, sign, and scan
- Email the form to ebooks@tsl.texas.gov
2. Implementation Form: ask for details about your library and your catalog/ILS
- Download the Word document and TYPE your answers
- Email the completed form to ebooks@tsl.texas.gov

If you want to include your library logo on your Boundless site, please email your logo file along with your implementation form.
Who participates in E-Read Texas?
As of January 2025, 198 public libraries across Texas participate in the program.
