The public of the East do
not take sufficient interest
in the history of Texas to
anticipate a purchase by them
of the picture. Therefore I
cannot make up my mind
to say send it. When perhaps
all your trouble would meet
with disappointment.
Of late years artists have
not received great encouragement
in the production of large pic-
tures while smaller ones of
merit are more sought after
