or white, with an ordinary sombrero for head
gear. On fatigue they wore epauletts, [sic] or shoulder
straps, according to caprice, but always one or the
other. The forage cap, accassionally [sic] worn by
officer's [sic] and men, had a peak which hung over,
with a tassel at the point.
