H A McArdle

Dear Sir I have just returned

from my trip to Austin. I went

by the way of Temple and just

got home and will try and ans-

wer your letter to the best of

my recoliction [sic]. [W]e [were] on Limberd [?]

a bout 2 hundred yards from

the Mexican breast works then

charged up to a bout 30 or 40

yards of the Breast work before

the Mexicans left thar [their] canon[.]

[W]e had to remain on the

field as we cod [could] go no farther[.]

[T]his is a bout the facts of the

case to the best of my

recoliction [sic] and I think a bout

true[.]
