Professor McArdle
Independence
Dear Sir
I am still without any information
from Mr. Davis in regard to
the "Book" [Thomas Jefferson] Green's History of
the Mier Expedition which I
had promised to procure for you.
In case you conclude to
visit the Battlefield again, This
place being on the way I wish
you to come directly to my house
and stop with us while here[.]
And it may be so that my son
can accompany you to the Battle
Field. I shall look forward to your
visit here with much pleasure.
As my eyes are very weak of late
I will reserve much to say
to you in place of writing.
