State Agency Bulletin 3: Records Retention Scheduling Rules
Bulletins are compiled by SLRM in a centralized location for ease of reference by our local government and state agency customers. They contain links to the Texas Administrative Code, Texas statutes, a combination of both, or best practice and guidance related to a particular topic or concept.
Bulletin 3 contains the administrative rules (Texas Administrative Code, Title 13, Chapter 6) governing the state agency retention schedule certification and recertification process, in addition to creating the Texas State Records Retention Schedule (RRS) and Texas State University Records Retention Schedule (URRS), which contain the minimum retention periods for all state agency records, adopted under authority of Government Code Chapter 441 by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.
