Local Government Bulletin B: Electronic Records Standards and Procedures
Bulletins are compiled by SLRM in a centralized location for ease of reference by our local government and state agency customers. They contain links to the Texas Administrative Code, Texas statutes, a combination of both, or best practice and guidance related to a particular topic or concept.
Bulletin B contains the statutory law (Local Government Code, Chapter 205) governing the management of electronic records by local governments, including storage and destruction of source documents, as well as administrative rules adopted under authority of Government Code Chapter 441 by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (Texas Administrative Code, Title 13, Chapter 7) regarding standards and procedures for the management of permanent and long-term electronic records, considered best practices for all other electronic records.
