18th Dec 1817
Maj Genl Jackson,
Sir,
I have the honor
to inform you, of the arrival of
the Arkansas delegation. On the 15th
Inst, Capt Rogers came to this place,
and states that he left Tolluntuskee [Cherokee leader] near
Wills-town, where a meeting will take
place on the 25th. Takahtokah [Cherokee war chief] was de-
tained at Arkansas, in consequence of
ill health and it is now the wish of
the ballance [sic] of the delegation to substitute some cheif [sic]
of this part of the Nation in his place.
How in this case I know not[,]
but when I attend the Talk, I will be
