ed and distributed from this point!!!
Is it not right? I have always kept
my lights under a bushel—of this
I am weary.
It is not from me, my dear
Terrell, that the idea has gone out
that I want [to] remove the seat of Gov-
ernment. It may be infered [sic] but not
from words spoken! On the 19th at night,
a meeting was held to require the Pres-
ident to keep out the Navy[.] Those
interested have not shown to me the
Resolutions adopted; nor do I know
what they really are, but I am told,
they will be published. People are migh-
ty smart, now a days. For instance
the expose [sic] or appeal of Gen Hamilton—
that can’t be beat! If we regard it
