Texas Magazines for Talking Book Patrons
Talking Book Program

The following locally produced and/or distributed magazines are available. The files are encrypted and compressed.

• Texas Monthly
• Texas Parks & Wildlife
• Texas Highways

Instructions for downloading magazine files:

1. Select the magazine title and issue you would like to download.
2. Download the issue to your computer.
3. Unzip (extract) the files.
4. Copy the files to your flash drive or cartridge.

You will now be able to listen to the magazine in your DTBM. You can also listen to these magazines in an authorized commercial player such as a Victor Reader Stream or other commercial player that has been authorized to play NLS books.

You will not be able to download these files using either BARD Express or the BARD Mobile app, as these magazines are not available on BARD.

However, once you have downloaded the issues you would like to listen to, if you prefer, you can “sideload” them into the BARD Mobile app so that you can listen to them and delete them through the app. Instructions for side loading files are available here:
