Resources and Services for Texas School Libraries

Resources

TexQuest is a statewide digital resources program that provides anytime, anywhere access to high-quality, authoritative digital resources to all educators, students, and students' immediate families in Texas K-12 public schools and open-enrollment charter schools. The program is supported, in part, by appropriations from the Texas State Legislature and district annual membership fees, which include access to electronic resources, training, and technical support.

On Aug. 4, 2023, the Commission provided initial approval for draft standards on collection development. This step is the first action as the draft must be further considered by the State Board of Education. We anticipate additional feedback and comments throughout the rule-making process. We anticipate that TSLAC’s formal rule proposal will be considered in September and should then be open for additional formal public comments. At this time, anyone wishing to provide informal comments may do so by emailing rules@tsl.texas.gov. See: Draft Collection Development Standards (as approved 8/4/2023).
