Hello everyone, I am Anne Poulos and I joined the State and Local Records Management Division as a Government Analyst at the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.
I received my Master of Arts in History from Texas A&M University-Commerce with a certificate in Public History. I also earned my bachelor’s from Texas Lutheran University in History. Yes, apparently, I must be a repetitive person. What I love about history is that it conveys the story of what people have done in the past, and one of the first steps in telling the story is preserving records. I have always held a curiosity in preserving documents and information designated for conservation. As a part of the Records Management Division I get work with records creators, the policies and rules that makes up the disposition of records for either permanent (archival) status versus the use of retention schedules before destruction.
Outside of my professional interests I enjoy creating necklaces, crocheting, reading books from food history to cozy mysteries, trying out new recipes from food history books to the wacky posts on Pinterest, and learning about gems and minerals.
