Hi, y’all! My name is Ella Castro, and I’m excited to be joining the State and Local Records Management team here at the Texas State Library and Archives Commission as a Government Information Analyst serving the Houston area.
I was born and raised in Austin. I moved to Washington, D.C., to attend American University, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Justice and Law with a concentration in criminal justice. Before becoming an analyst, I established a records management program for a public health district in Central Texas and actually spent a lot of time on the phone with TSLAC (just on the other side of the compliance process)! I love this job because I get to empower the people behind our local governments in Texas to hear, “records management,” and think, “I got this.”
Outside of TSLAC, I love visiting antique shops and taking road trips to explore parts of Texas I haven’t seen before.
Congrats on your new position Ella! The Houston area is lucky to have you!
